Most employers in British Columbia are required by-law to register their business with WorkSafeBC under the Workers Compensation Act. Registration ensures that your workers are protected in case of a work related accident or illness.
WorkSafe BC insurance covers:
· persons regularly employed by your business
· contract labourers who do not have their own WorkSafeBC coverage
· shareholders and officers who work for your company
Please note that owners of an unincorporated business are generally not required to register if they have no employees. Owners of an unincorporated business can apply for optional protection program.
